Absolutely, the Cassette system was first designed for 4x5 sheet film. Other sheet film sizes can be custom ordered.

Yes, there is a slight border or edge (Standard size mask do not include sprockets or borders) Below images are scanned useing Cassette Mask - Edges may differ depending on your film and process.

Are the Cassette Mask Interchangeable?

Yes, the Cassette Film Difuser accepts all multi-format Cassette Mask including custom sizes

What is the custom size ordering process?

The process is simple. Follow these steps
From Check out
Add the details in the comments section- negative or film size measurements need to be in MM, and include any edge or border in your measurement.
Once the order has been placed you will receive a pdf proof within 1-2 business days.

What's with the diffuser? Do you need it?

The diffuser allows for even light distribution across the negative - especially when using low-grade LED or less ideal light sources. below is a testing from an independent lab

I did testing using a Minolta color meter 111 to see if the Cassette diffuser had a color shift, and to my surprise, it had none that I could meter. I also did some testing for light transmission to see how much the light was cut down from the original light source, and it was only.1 of a f stop using a Minolta flash meter lV. so essentially the 8x10 diffuser has no color shift and virtually no loss of light. Very impressive.
